Interesting: 3MW TX power give 8W ERP, so 0,0003% efficiency at a commercial
station on 76 Hz.
But with that 8W ERP the whole world was covered. And we talk about 120* the
frequency and for us, 300km would be enough to motivate each other to start
some experiments there ;-)

Roger,
I believe that elf is being abandoned for use with
submarines in favor of a system that shoots lasers from satellites
into the water.
The US has shut down its 76 Hz transmitter in Clam Lake Wisconsin
which used 3 Megawatts of transmitter power to achieve an ERP of 8
watts!
