Well John
When you get G3XBM in a email/posting some time back indicating that a move to Yahoo would enable more control to ban persons like me whose opinions and point of view differ from his,  this is hardly encouraging or democratic.
A sysop is necessary to ensure smooth operation of any organised group but not CENSORSHIP or BANNING.
I was a BBS SYSOP for several years at my GB7KEV main line BBS and never expressed a desire to censor or ban anyone and in those day thousands of messages passed through my system and some were controversial but it was merely persons expressing their opinions that differed from others.
I hope you now understand my and others point of view about being associated with this Yahoo group.

Sorry guys, but I'm not monitoring this list much - rather busy on a number of other fronts.  However, as I have looked in to post the thing about the poll saw the comments below.

What is this restriction Mal, on posting to Yahoo! Groups - can you elaborate as I am not aware of this.

In answer to your comment Chris, I have said that I would arrange the Sysop to create a re-direct to the new group, so that people using the URL from one on the many published sources would be able to find the group.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, and really don't want to be saddled with monitoring and administering two groups on the same basic topic.

Mal, I agree.
Indeed, if the old site was to close I would suggest after a year or two at least. I first discovered it through the RSGB book 'LF Today' and probably many newcomers do the same. Also there are probably links to this site from others which will be around for years.
Vy 73 all,

John
Keep Blacksheep reflector going as backup. I never had any serious problems
with it. It is perfectly functional and useful with small attachments and
for larger screen shots then Dropbox is suitable and has worked well this
has been pointed out by others.
I cannot see any advantage with the Yahoo reflector except I get more
adverts that I do not need.
Any mention of Underground LF/MF exploration are not permitted on Yahoo

To John, G3WKL,

Please do NOT shut down this reflector.

1. It's active in positive sense.

2. There are too many hams here who say
"no thanks!" to that advertisement driven
Brave New World were each posting will be
"googleable" for ever. Me too.

That's the reason I unsubscribed from
some Yapoo-Groups recently.
