That's  true .. but worked  nicely  on 5  megs  .. and the  plots  on  500  showed  what  could be  done with a  short  pulse and  some good  software ..
 
With the  extreme  qsb on LF  , most of the  long pulse beacon , oop's  sorry  CW . transmissions are lost anyway as can  be seen  by  the new  level  of - did  you  - did I - could it  -  was it  - no or  ok -   ... traffic on the  reflector .. 
 
What  could be better  than  a system that  could  give a  real  positive ID   on, say  only  1  10 second  tx pulse ,
 
Maybe  should be re-named the   - Small  Green Beacon -  project as the  low   TX power  levels  will  reduce the  polar ice cap  erosion ?

gad...the only thing worse than single-letter ID's is no ID at all.
 
This still does not address the problem of LFers who choose not to be on the reflectors as well as newcomers and casual tuners, wondering who the heck they are seeing.
