I have used an ICOM R75 and still own a AOR
AR7030.
Both are excellent performers at LF.
The AR7030 has top notch rf performance but the
ergonomics of the AR7030 are a bit unusual. The R75 is very easy to drive
and has a 1 Hz frequency readout.
The perfect receiver should be an AR7030 with a R75
front panel.
The R75 is the receiver of choice for many NDB
chasers.
The AR7030 is still available new. The R75 is not
available in Europe, due to ROHS restrictions. They are quiet cheap in the USA,
due to the good (for us) dollar exchange rate.
A pity the main distributor won't ship into
Europe.
