This is the only polite way.
Guess we must be getting old and out of touch with current social norms.
It's one thing to post in your own words "Hey, over on this other
reflector I read that ... " and go on to paraphrase the information, maybe
even provide a short quote or a link, but it is a completely different
matter to highlight > left click > copy and paste a post in it's entirety
elsewhere without the originator's permission.
I don't see why much needs to change other than respecting the wishes of
other ... even if different than your own.

Hi Jay the problem being we dont have ready access to Blacksheep. I
suggest no-one cross posts messages they do not originate. This is the
only polite way.
I thought there was a mirror/archive of Blacksheep messages in the
US....I remember seeing one about 10 years ago....but cant find it now so
it must have died. It is easy enough to set up a Yahoo private group and
have all the facilities that seem to be required....continuing with this
Group in the present conditions is just a hassle. I would have thought an
"open" group would be a better way to encourage new LF stations. A
poster can delete their own messages if they dont want them to persist.
You can pull up all you posts and delete in one go. They may be cached
for a while but will soon "decay". You cannot "hide" an email address
easily, though you may be able to use an anonymous site. I have no
experience of that.

Another possible solution ...
Everyone on this list could indicate their preference ... 1) okay to
cross-post without permission, 2) okay to cross-post with permission or
3) cross-posts never allowed. It would seem that this could be done with
a 'gentleman's agreement'. If not, anyone that cross-posts against the
desires of the originator will be subject to removal from this list.

You can actually set up a private group on Yahoo where members only see
the messages. I use these for a number of different committee. There is
no access to messages outside the group members, and messages are not
open to google style searches. In fact no one else knows the group
exists!

...i am extremely irritated to see my emails and even my email adress
in this reflector beeing permanently forwarded to the web, i.e.
certain public groups. Thus i consider to reduce my activity here and
communicate with the few really active people directly, at least for
some time.
