Hi Mal I dont see anyone ridiculing this reflector....it has been a vital resource for years. Some wanted more facilities, and we can't, it seems, provide the same service these days here. If it dies there may be no-one to press the red button :-)) It would seem to be losing mail, or it has perhaps generated a blacklisting on some routes/nodes because messages dont always seem to get through to non-UK users. We do not have control of the hardware, it is not run on RSGB servers. It's a bit like the old marine Class C valve rigs......they still work but are not as efficient as modern kit. :-))

Those of us interested in following activity for propagation information still need to receive both, and of course reply on the "senders channel" :-))

Alan
That is a valid suggestion. The thing that puzzles me is some of those that
redicule BS frequently are still reading and posting to the BS REFLECTOR.
It seems that all the hot stuff ie technical discussions about rigs and
antennas and topics like DX propagation and arrangements for skeds happen on
BS.
I am in direct contact with some DX stations about engaging in CW/QRSS QSO'S
both simplex and xband for those that cannot TX on LF/MF
When propagation permits I shall fire up like I did years ago in a
calculated manner and not Beacon wildly hoping for a chance strike.
I have worked many JA stations over the years on 160 metres and some of
these stations would like to work two way with EU on 500 Khz and they would reply on the lower end of the 160 metre band CW. A couple of VK top band CW
dxers have expressed a similar interest.
I did hear a VK6 top band dxer on 24 Mhz this morning on CW

Hi Jay the problem being we dont have ready access to Blacksheep. I
suggest
no-one cross posts messages they do not originate. This is the only polite
way.

I thought there was a mirror/archive of Blacksheep messages in the US....I
remember seeing one about 10 years ago....but cant find it now so it must
have died. It is easy enough to set up a Yahoo private group and have all
the facilities that seem to be required....continuing with this Group in
the
present conditions is just a hassle. I would have thought an "open" group
would be a better way to encourage new LF stations. A poster can delete
their own messages if they dont want them to persist. You can pull up all
you posts and delete in one go. They may be cached for a while but will
soon
"decay". You cannot "hide" an email address easily, though you may be able
to use an anonymous site. I have no experience of that.
