Hello Stefan, As far as I know, reception of Australian NDB's in Europe is yet to happen.I have received China, Japan, Taiwan and Bangkok on 518 kHz NAVTEX, but this is quite rare. Reception from NDB's due south is problematic as there are not many active in Africa. I have heard Nigeria and Cape Verde, but nothing else. To the south east, Pakistan is about the longest distance from Europe. My best reception ever is Easter Island in the Pacific around the spring equinox. Unfortunately this station has been decommissioned.Japan and New Zealand have often been received from the US west coast, but that is a different path. My guess is that with narrow bandwidth modes, VK should be possible on the new 472-479 kHz band. 73, Roelof, pa0rdt |
