Hello Roelof,What about NDB signals from the southern hemisphere? How are they affected? Do you know (and receive) some from VK? May be a stupid question but i have no experience about NDB reception. 73, Stefan/DK7FC Am 09.03.2012 15:15, schrieb Roelof Bakker: Hello Alan,For further "experimental data", on 518 kHz NAVTEX only stations from the north at a distance below 1000 km were received last night. Norlandet at 1374 km away, did not appear at all, where it is a very regular guest otherwise. It is interesting to note that a perfect decode was received from Miami, 7000+ km away at 04:05 UTC.What is also interesting is that my PERSEUS spectrum window from 0 - 40 MHz showes depressed signals above 2 MHz.The average level is 10 - 20 dB below normal. These SDR's lent themselves very well for wideband propagation study! 73, Roelof, pa0rdt |
