Peter, you are in Kiel. This may be one of the best regions in germany for kite 
antennas :-) Which kite have you used for your tests? Anything better than the 
"Jumbo power sled 36" (or 81)?

Tried that some 9 years ago. Did not work due to heavy detuning effects if
wind speed varied slightly. What worked sufficiently was a pyramid guying
at ~1/3 of the full length of the kite rope such that the shack was just
below the top of the pyramid.
