Hi Paul, Concerning the different performance of VLF7 / Bielefeld: > I wonder if the good nights and bad nights correlate with having other equipment connected at the radio club? <I don't think, since there was no one at the club besides myself for only half an hour. But there was rain/drizzle which often causes static QRM at the metal rod antenna (which is not covered by a plastic shield). It may even be time to wipe away the cobwebs and clean the insulators, to prevent traces of humidity from shorting the E-field rod to ground. It was dry today (until now, 2017-12-29 17:00 UTC) so if today gives better signals than yesterday and before (when it was very humid), we know better. Best greetings and HNY to everyone, Wolf DL4YHF . |
