You can make a  loop omnidirectional by mounting it horizontal. That makes it respond to the vertically polarized component of the EM field, so of no use on LF.

Another way is to use two loops crossed under 90 degrees. But you have to introduce an extra 90 degrees phase shift in the signal from one of the loops  before combining them.
