Hello Andy,

I am glad you got it working at last.

Thank you for the extensive testing.

I will have a look at the selection of the soundcard output.

After four attempts at starting the software, I managed to get Tune to generate audio
It appears that I have to set the soundcard in the pull down menu then close the programme.  When it is then opened again, that soundcard is offered as the default.  If left alone it works.

If I try to select another soundcard, the same procedure is needed; settign, close, open, check it is the default offered ...

It looks as if, at least for audio OUT, you are using the soundcard stored in the config file rather than in the pull down menu box

But I'm pleased to report the catastrophic crash that occurred before when no S/C was present has now gone away :-)

I've just installed 9.11 and am having exactly the same problem with getting audio out.   Either on normal Tx or Tune, no audio is being generated.(Yes, I do have the slider advanced !)

Occasionally on 9.10 I did get audio, but it was random as to whether would start or not.  So far even that hasn't happened on 9.11

Audio in on Rx is OK

Dear all,

I just uploaded a now beta-release of SlowJT9 (v0.9.11).

Just some bugs fixed:

- Fatal bug that could cause a crash if the soundcard was not found fixed.
- Non fatal bug that caused wrong audio frequency limitations for JT9.EXE fixed.
- Non fatal bug that caused a slight timing error fixed. This maybe give that extra 0.1dB you need to complete the ultimate DX QSO ;-)

Be aware that due to the baudrate changes there is NO BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY for JT9-2 and JT9-5 to version prior to 0.9.10.

In other words: JT9-2 and JT9-5 send with v0.9.11 cannot be decoded with versions v0.9.00 - v0.9.03 and vice versa.

The JT9-1 mode however is still the same and can be sent / received with all versions (and is WSJT-X compatible).

The sole purpose of this version is to determine how JT9-2, and eventually JT9-5, behave in relation to the previous versions, so we can decide wether SlowJT9 will proceed with the original parameters (anno 2013) that imply an odd baudrate ratio between the JT9 submodes or my previous parameters, with "round number" ratios.

Therefore all test reports, remarks, suggestions and opinions are most welcome.

For the same reason no other changes are applied.

I want to thank everybody who gave feedback, suggestions and bug reports over the past weeks, this was very much appreciated!

Whoever is interested can download the SlowJT9 installation file at http://472khz.org/SlowJT9/SlowJT9_setup.exe.

For now only a Windows version of SlowJT9 is available. But as the used IDE has cross platform facilities it should be possible to support other operating systems as well in the future.
