Thread-topic: SlowJT9 update (v0.9.11.1)

Dear all,

the past days I have (hopefully) cured some soundcard treathment errors.

I hope that this fixed 2 issues:

- An error that occured when another soundcard was selected.

- An error that occured due to a buffer overload.

This last error crashed the application under some versions of Windows.

I have also intensified the debug messages (saved in extra/debug.txt). To avoid that this file becomes too big it is cleared at the start of every cycle. As a result you will have to copy the content (or rename the file) before restarting SlowJT9 if you want to keep the debug information.

If you still encounter problems (craches), please send me a copy of the debug file together with a description of the error (and if it can be provoced: the steps to do so) and your PC (COPU, memory, Win version).

Instead of making a new installation file I just uploaded the zipped executable, it can be downloaded at http://472khz.org/SlowJT9/SlowJT9.zip .

Just unzip and replace the SlowJT9.exe file in the 0.9.11 installation folder (default c:\SlowJT9).

The full 0.9.11 installation file can be downloaded at http://472khz.org/SlowJT9/SlowJT9_setup.exe.

Be aware that due to the baudrate changes there is NO BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY for JT9-2 and JT9-5 to versions prior to 0.9.10.

In other words: JT9-2 and JT9-5 send with v0.9.11.1 cannot be decoded with versions v0.9.00 - v0.9.03 and vice versa.

The JT9-1 mode however is still the same and can be sent / received with all versions (and is WSJT-X compatible).

All test reports, remarks, suggestions and opinions are most welcome.

I want to thank everybody who gave feedback, suggestions and bug reports over the past weeks, this was very much appreciated!

The next step is to check if the windowed sinc impulse response will improve the performance and eventually implement it (big thank you to Marcus, DF6NM, for his help).

Once that is figured out I will focus on the implementation of a number of useful "extra's" as suggested by several hams.

For now only a Windows version of SlowJT9 is available. But as the used IDE has cross platform facilities it should be possible to support other operating systems as well in the future.
