17wpm is respectable but needs improving. Aim for 25
Some others that I have been listening to on both LF es MF for years have not improved and they are still struggling at the novice speed of less than 12 wpm. One problem on LF/MF is the ability to RX. Around EU some produce good TX signals but have no EARS or simply do not listen.

I would suggest that those interested in the new MF band start brushing up on their CW.
I have a couple of nice ex USAF mf RECEIVERS for this beacon band.

About 3 miles even better I have a row of high vis solar lights in the garden. On a more serious note I can see many problems on this new to me it looks as it was done in a last minute rush to get something out without looking for the unintended consequences. 73 ken M0KHW

Just you watch out Ken ... first key down on the new band, check out of your living room window for an Easy Jet in frontal silhouette, wheels down and locked with flaps set to 15 degrees trying to touch down in your front garden...... not too far from Luton AP are you?
