Yes!
But there is also a E field when you are transmitting on a loop, even in the 
near field. It is just not optimal but anyway you can check frequency 
stability, efficiency improvements and so on.
Recently i have done this test with the 120m earth antenna and my RX ant is 
also a small active E field antenna.
 
I am looking forward for a QSO between us both, at least in DFCW-3. This may 
come faster than we assume now ;-)
 
Additionally our distance is not very far so we could arrange a meeting, maybe 
together with DD7PC and co. Than we could discuss live. What do you think about 
that?
Yesterday, as i drove on the hill, my car broke down and cannot be started any 
more :-( I have to repair some parts. Thus, i am now active in a Volkswagen 
group and do measurements on an other front ;-) Hope it works again soon...

Thanks for the suggestions :-)

I think one of the problems with detection in the near field was, that I am 
transmitting an H-field and DD7PC uses an E-field antenna. I guess that was the 
problem here.But for "DX" the vertical will be better anyways.
