Hello Rik,

I use an active antenna of my own design (higher imd free range than the
miniwhip). It alsoo has a FET inputstage with some protectiondiodes and a small
lightbulb. It was only 3 meters away from the transmittingantenna,500 Watt in
the range 136KHz-3,8MHz never has been any problem for the past 4 years..
Optimum whiplenght in this aerea 60cm.

Roelof,

I cannot agree, a Belgian beer can will provide at least 10dB better SNR ;-)

Now serious: I have been thinking about a simple but good RX antenna
for LF, MF and the lower HF range and you mini-whip seems the right
solution.
But will the preamp survive when pumping a few 100W into my 500kHz TX
antenna (lazy-L) that will be only 25m away ?
