Ok, Chris, it's correct to connect the ground probe as near as possible to the module's GND. Please, could you post some pics of your NEO's breakout board?

Thanks, a typo on my phone, I am always doing it, sorry, I was setting
1 MHz (mega) :) I'll try again but that sounds like I was doing it
correctly. Where should the probe ground be taken from please?
