OK, that's not ideal. False messages must be avoided. It is problematic with single character messages.

At least the experienced RX station operator would have doubts with this result and interprete it critical because +2.2 dB is quite a high value and there is no reason that the message appears at rank 23 (and not at rank 0).

Compared with an interpretation of a single DFCW character read out from a spectrogram, this is 'T' to 'M' copy and it could happen in QSB that e.g. a 'C' is interpreted as a 'K' because the last dash is down in the noise. So there is alway the risk for a misinterpretation, in QRSS, in DFCW, in CW, in OP32, even in WSPR and of course also in EbNaut.

The noise has been a dB higher last night. Pity! With the same noise level as the night before it would have worked well.

But this night i promised to run the 24 hour carrier. I'm starting 15 UTC today running 1.2 A on 17470.1 Hz.

Forest decoded '4' from the overnight transmission
21:30 to 07:06, Eb/N0 = +2.2 dB, rank 23.

This is a false decode.

The correct decode is down at Eb/N0 = -1.3 dB,
-39.09 dB in 1Hz.

Close, but it's going to need another night.
