Just in case you haven't seen some of the discussions on this reflector...I should have mentioned that the Octo/Pi combination works fine with Paul Nicholson's vlfrxtools. You can find details here:

If you know Linux and theory of signal processing/DSP this s/w suite will cater for most vlf applications. I'm sure you have seen Paul's emails on this reflector!
