your article is the best introduction to FEC coding that I have ever seen! It quickly gives an intuitive feeling for how and why it works.

I haven't posted it anywhere else, please share the link if
you think others will benefit.  This mailing list is my only
contact with amateur radio - I'm not sure where else to post.

Added links to the random codebooks I've been using. For those
who enjoy programming, it's fun and quite easy to make up a
simple program to simulate the baseband comms.

(I did that myself a couple of years ago - a little program to
help me learn about FEC... it evolved into EbNaut).
