Sad news! I had the pleasure to meet Peter at the SK sale of Laurie his
friend G3ACQ, when I bought his Decca kit and other LF/MF kit
. I also met up with him when he was writing his book on mobile operating
and he photographed my IC706 installation and used it in the book.
A sad loss and such a nice chap
RIP Peter

Subject: LF: Peter Dodd, G3LDO, SK
I have been informed that Peter Dodd, G3LDO, died last night.
Peter was very active in the early days of LF, making the first two-
way QSO on 73kHz and being part of a very early transatlantic
contact on the 136kHz band. He compiled several early collections of
articles on low frequency operating, including The LF Experimenter's
Handbook which was published by the RSGB in 2000.
Many of you will also know his numerous books and articles on
antennas.
Those who met him will remember him as a real gentleman. I had the
privilege to work with him on RadCom and various books.
A sad loss to amateur radio.
Mike, G3XDV
