Hello Minto and RTTY reporters,
Thanks for the reports.
I'm sorry, i haven't been on the station any more last night. I also
missed Dave's CW calls, i'm sorry, once again.
The beacon was running through the night but now i see that it has
stopped. However the program is still running. So maybe the PA blew up
again, despite the fan. Still don't know it. I should consider to spend
a small heat sink or a tiny fan, integrated in the housing of the PA,
so the air convection is optimised. Like that filigree work :-)
I like to give it a try again this late evening but it seems to be
better to make no promises..

Hi stefan,
I tried to call you in rtty between your beacon transmissions, but
either my signal was too weak or you were not listening at that moment.
Oh well, better luck next time?

Minto,
I'm excited. Was that you a few minutes ago?
I was writing in real time some stuff to my program which sent the
stuff in RTTY immediately. The TX was in idle mode during that time.
suddenly someone answered! "big brother is watching you" and so. Was
that you??
It looks like my PA is blown up once again. It is simply not designed
for a key-down transmission, so the idle mode is not ideal, except i'm
using a fan. Now i will once again replace 2x IRFZ48N and be on air in
1 hour or earlier. Let us try the QSO then again, OK? :-)

Oh my bad. I know Amtor is fsk, but thought that ros-mf is
non-lineair like PSK31.
Learning all the time. Is the protocoll open-source so I can
understand it and program it in my PIC?
I know, I know... will look it up myself :-)

Linear ? amtor fec is 2 tone fsk mode ... ros-mf
is
mfsk , but needs sdr or audio to Rf translation , very few have
linear tx paths on MF/LF ,

Yes Amtor might also be interesting to look into.
And I’ll stick with FSK modes only for the time being,
lineair
modes are not an option with my PIC+DDS9850 TX for now...

S..
Good level to see if amtor fec has any advantage
?
its in multipsk .. but no idea how to expand the beacon text !
If the level at tween is -7 ? then a day time test
of
mf-2 should decode in the UK . good chance to Shetland as well
if the signal is similar to the OP4 test last July
Will take a look later

Hi Stefan,
I can decode you through Twente WebSDR, abt 50% copy right
now.
I’m sure this will get to a solid copy later tonight.
My own sig is not much better, and I am _much_ closer to
Twente... :-(

Eddie,
LF,
I just learned how to program a beacon transmission and now i'm running
a test transmission in RTTY 50 Baud and 85 Hz shift on 478.2 kHz (ish).
Will do some tests via Twente WEB SDR now. It's still daytime so the
signal may still be down.
Picture from local grabber RX attached (antenna disconnected).
Try to catch it :-)
I would like to do some QSOs later, if someone is strong enough and
willing.

My sentiments entirely and one day it has to go to be replaced by

Just mentioned in passing no debates please.

OK :-)
Now, are you prepared to listen for me? This evening i would like to
make a QSO, if this is possible. However the data rate is quite high so
i assume you need a relative high power to keep the error rate low.
Yes I will listen for you no problem, let me know on here when you want
to try. Yes the data bits do not stay long in the same place so it is
for you QRO guys or short distance and medium distance with lifts for
the QRP'rs.
I slept in very early last evening, sorry, so i missed to do a test on
air last night. But today!
Which baud rate and frequency shift is recommended and which frequency?
Follow Gary and be compatible seems sensible, Baud rate used is 50
shift 85 Hz QRG 478.200KHz set you baud rate and shift in Menu - MODE -
RTTY - Opions at the bottom of the list.
RRRR.
I will do so :-)

PS: Is there a possibility to run a beacon message in that program? It
is quite intuitive but i didn't find that function.
I look forward to seeing you sigs.
