SpecLab's digimode terminal will generate audio tones in QRSS directly. "Just" open the digimode terminal and select a predefined mode, QRSS-3. Select the output tone frequency.Open the components window and enable the audio sound output.
You must spend some time to play with SL to find how it works. After some time it becomes managable ;-)

type the text which you want to TX in the lower text field. Press F2, F3, F10 to start the transmission.

Thanks for replies so far, but I am still unable to see how to output a QRSS audio tone e.g. from QRS or Multitone software to an external audio card like SignaLink USB when using a laptop with only USB interfaces. It seems quite a simple requirement so am surprised not to find this supported.

OK I could built an audio derived PTT keyer using the line out, but it would be so much simpler to use the SignaLink USB interface for all data modes and, as far as I can see, there is no software to support this. I am excluding Spectrum Laboratory, which I'm afraid I find very hard to use and remember how to use!

Help!

Some advice please.

What is the best available PC program that will allow me to generate a QRSS signal as an AUDIO tone so that I can use my SignaLink USB interface to my TX/transverter as I do for OPERA, JT9-x and WSPR with VOX keying?

I am about to build a new transverter for 136kHz to do some earth-electrode antenna tests and would like to be able to use the same interface..
