Rik, LF Yes - I was pleased at the results too!I note that now, in darkness, that my active loop is giving much the same s/n results to the vertical/tuned pre-amp, whereas in daytime the vertical/pre-amp was far better. I've seen this before, the active loop's own internal noise limits its useable sensitivity in the day, when extra gain on a passive antenna brings increased sensitivity. At night the external noise dominates in both setups, and the results become very similar. I'm running both in parallel at the moment - spots from GM4SLV are the vertical/preamp/IC718 and from CLOUSTA are from the ALA1530S+ loop/IC-R75.
