Being one whom seems destined to live in places where no local activity exists within , say, 5000Kms radii, can I say that Ive had the delight to hear numerous Eu signals on Circa 505Khz over the past 48 hours of listening.

Todays feast started off with a CW qso with a G3UNT (599)and a G4D (DGR or GDR I cant remember... (549, I was in the Croydon at the time) :- youll have to remember Ive a long term memory of a goldfish; then a longish qso with GI4DPE (559) and G3KEV (599), (M1 J12). With Guss' signal dogboning from SM and D  beacons stations  booming in  made my drive from Sussex to Nottingham more interesting than having to listen to BBC local radio drivel

Antennae

Ive had at least two people today come up to me and say "I got to ask why DO YOU HAVE A BABY BOTTLE on your car roof?" -

Note to self : - try to replace baby bottle with something more mundane.

Noise

The noise level is pretty good, and I only get a couple of squeaks from the PC near 500KHz. Earthing the coax where it comes from the eprobe knocks some 30dB of internal to car hash from getting to the probe. The best place Ive found is near, but not on, the door catch bolt. I have about a 6 inch tail of wire bonded to the outer of the RG174 cable and this is connected to the car chassis. Running the 12VDC to 240VAC inverter does create a few dBs more noise but not enough to mask Finbars signal.

Regards and thanks to all for the beacons and CW signals.
