Hi Mike - Some ops have rewired their TS-850 to bypass the attenuator but a simple compromise is to set the dial to 499.98 and use the RIT control to tune into the UK 500 kHz band. The RIT range can be doubled (from the default of 1.27 kHz) to 2.54 kHz by changing programmable function #17. I usually set the RIT to 2.02 kHz, then the bandwidth of the USB filter gives reception to at least 504 kHz.
