With any luck the new helix will not arc and the 10 uW carrier on 8270.007 Hz will remain QRV until further notice. Stefan has reassured me that I probably won't cause too much QRM on 8270 but please

There's a bit of a peak forming after 6 hours, but it's 46.3 uHz on the high side of 8270.007 - that's one FT bin high. http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/170508a.gif Will keep an eye on it as the day progre

Noise is coming from the south west, Joe is on bearing 280. I shifted the beam north to 310 to reduce the noise quite a lot (and the signal a bit too) - Now in 39.7 uHz http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/170

8270.007 is not a whole number of cycles in 24 hours. Will SL make a phase step at some point, perhaps midnight local or midnight UT? -- Paul Nicholson --

Ok. There was mention of locking SL to NAA some emails ago but maybe that was for reception. Anyway, I shifted the 6 hour window back an hour, 22:00 to 04:00 UT to get http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/170

Daytime signal is measuring 0.04 fT 08:00 to 11:00 which also agrees with LWPC. If this is VO1NA, we should get a good result if Joe is able to keep the transmitter going and phase-stable until 20:0
