replace the ones that check bad? I'm leaning toward replacing all
four whenever one or more is dead. Am I being too paranoid?


Paul, FWIW, I've blown a number of the 34NB20s over the years, especially when on the 2200m system. I've always just replaced the blown one only and sparked-up as usual with no ill-effects.
PS, I was likely one of the callers you missed last night as I rarely move 
to the CQers frequency which I probably should. Being so quiet here, my 
waterfall doesn't show any signs of crud and I often forget that others may 
have picked the 'clean' spot at their end for a good reason. You have made 
an excellent point.
