Hello Chris.

In the year 2000 on LF I had a stell 14 meters mast supporting the top of the vertical thin wire of my transmitting Inv L antenna.

I tried some distances between the mast and the vertical wire. With close distance as 50 cm, I had some capacitance added and it had very influence on the tuning unit, and sure bad result about the antenna efficiency. With 2 meters of spacing or over, all was OK and the mast seems to have very little influence.

73 Andy.

Having improved the grounding here I now want to get at least the
lowest corner of my big horizontal roughly square wire loop up higher
than the apex of my bungalow it's currently tied to. The highest
nearest structure is my 40 foot wind up lattice work steel mast. It
would be most convenient to have the vertical element at this corner.
How far away from the steel mast should the vertical element be to not
have issues please? I strap the window line feeder at the base to form
the vertical so I can also use the horizontal loop on HF bands. Thanks
