Last time he received me was on the same day but in 2014!

All good propagation unite just for 2 minutes.
Sometimes on this band it is also restricted from a certain area to a certain area. He didn't copy a ny other EU stations, there were much powerfull stations QRV at time.

Your antenna certainly added the radiation performance,.
Understand that you have the feeder and coil "high".
Former maritiem users of this band used to have Marconi L or T type antenna's. They were very cumbersome for cargo handling in a port.

At a certain moment Rockwell (later Shakespeare) came into the market with just a whip made for MF type AS9 "Wonderrod" (also now by Comrod) It consisted of a 16m fiber pole on top a loading coil, rather heavy (50kgs!) about 1 m in length. On top of the loadingcoil an "attic" of 3 or 4 whips.
Later this concept was taken over by COMROD and Dieckmann und Klapper.
The performance on MF was outstanding, better than the Marconi.

I a way you created the same situation by not baseloading but centre loading the system. As you may noticed your sigs are quite strong here, sometimes in the + over region of SNR over a distance 1500km!

Any info about AA1A antennas ?

There is no details available on QRZ.com
I must be running here under 70w as PA is consuming 6A at 12V
Antenna is a 80+10m vertical. Coil and feed at 80m
