Hello EbNaut-ers and all,

yes,  seems that 114 years later we have a return message from VO received also in Italy. This time a little bit longer than 3 dots !

Many compliments to Joe for his transmissions.

Just now returned in radio room after almost a week. I was out of home but i left receiver tuned on VO1NA in these days and now i have 3-4 Gbyte of data. But i noted many issues occurred in the unattended shack. First of all, lack of gps and time ref. signal for many periods.  Never happen with me in the shack. Next time i will post my photo near the equipment.

So, i will try to decode VO1NA last transmissions recordered in JN80NU, if possible, during week-end.

Most probably some EbNaut transmissions from my side are planned for Tomorrow.

This is the EbNaut log of 2300 VO1NA today's transmission. I used the nominal time and frequency offsets. Nice!

Attached is the symbols plot for the 22 UT transmission, which decoded at 10.9 dB Eb/N0. On this small Win-10 convertible (Celeron 2x1.83 GHz), running through the phase permutations for a 25 character decode takes about 20 minutes.

That's very helpful.  The oscillator needs some work to improve our chances. 

 

In the mean time, how about a longer message, more power and shorter symbols.  9K19A 1 Second symbols 25 characters 500 watts. 2100 UTC.
