The carrier was switched on at 0830. A weak trace appeared on your
grabber overnight.

With your encouragement, let's try try a carrier starting 0845 while
monitoring the tuning.
I've seen no traces on any grabbers on your side of the pond so far,
but we can hope.

course it would be ideal to have that straight carrier - considering your usual
signal strength you would probably still be easily observable if you reduced

Dear Group,
A trip up the hill in deep snow with a wattmeter confirmed the
RL was seriously detuned with ice. The original 100m wire was
also iced and of little use until it was retuned. The forecast
is for 1C tonight so if the ice melts, the RL will be energised.
The plan is to keep QRSS100 on for the night and duration of
the eclipse. A 2 hour carrier was planned, but this is risky.
A sharp drop in the Kyoto DST 2 days ago and the aerial ice
is mother nature's way of making the eclipse experiment
challenging!
