Dear Group, A trip up the hill in deep snow with a wattmeter confirmed the RL was seriously detuned with ice. The original 100m wire was also iced and of little use until it was retuned. The forecast is for 1C tonight so if the ice melts, the RL will be energised. The plan is to keep QRSS100 on for the night and duration of the eclipse. A 2 hour carrier was planned, but this is risky. A sharp drop in the Kyoto DST 2 days ago and the aerial ice is mother nature's way of making the eclipse experiment challenging! 73 and good luck with the eclipse! Hope my sigs help. Joe VO1NA |
