My radio (Yaesu FT-2000) is set at the very bottom of what the receiver can cover at 30 KHz in lower sideband mode to catch Bob’s signal. The scale shows the audio frequency, so Bob’s signal is around 501 Hz below 30 KHz or 29.499 KHz. My radio probably has a little drift so I would not rely on that to show slight shift in frequency. Also I had made an adjustment earlier when I switched it to QRSS 120 mode to bring the frequency into the middle of the capture. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Jay,

Can you help me with units? I am seeing 10mHz shifts on Paul’s spectrogram and in Bob’s comments; but I read about 0.25 and 0.5 (not sure of units) shifts on your http://lwca.org/grabbers/ka9cfd/ spectrogram. What are the units of the frequency scale? (I see a Hz label, but I can ‘t work out the numbers)

Thanks!

Paul and Jay;
I went out to shack with 2 people [company for the evening and very curious]  I had total mental block mwhen came time to punch 29.499 in!!!  Very embarrassing!   Sorry for couple minute delay had to go to Jay's site to get correct freq!
Paul break at freq shift very clear.  Will QRSS180 be slow enough to get capture or maybe need 240 or 500?
