Hi Eddie my commisserations on you interference, but can I refer you to the
regulations and in particular the "conditions of your (TV) licence"
"You must not cause undue interference to any other radio television
reception with your TV eqipment"
Note it does not say "broadcast". It is interesting you have interference at
500kHz but not 472kHz. This almost suggests an older CRT system with
15.625kHz line scan coils. Plasma interference is usualy from one of the
PSUs and is radiated by the braid of the aerial. A TV braid breaker will
often cure this.
If you are on good terms with your neighbour it might be worth drawing their
attention to the licence conditions, and suggest they contact their
supplier, as you may have to make a complaint. The supplier might be more
"sensitive" than the neighbour, you may then suggest a "cure" to try. The
RSGB did used to stock these filters which are normally used for VHF but are
very effective for SMPSU radiation.
It does work and these problems can be cured.

No Stefan, money talks.
The big manufacturers have got their TV's, Computer PSU's and Power Line
Wifi devices passed despite them being above the permitted radiation
levels.
Amateur Radio is not a protected service, so, unless the device is causing
interference to Broadcast or has a fault causing interference greater than
the manufactured level you are stuck and noise levels just rise all the
time.
There are several Panasonic Plasma TV's round here, several thousand
pounds worth, if it was possible I would complain about them all and have
them all scrapped. I can't even QRM the things.:-(
Of course there are exceptions, some PLT devices have been replaced for
wireless devices free by BT who should have known better and not installed
them in the first place. The RSGB even started collecting donations for a
private fighting fund to take the authorities on in a court of law re PLT.
