equipment running !
The 15 watts was set to give
signals just at the limit at G0KTN, who has
been decoding the 2 modes from the
start, down to about 5 watts now.
the amplifiers will produce full power on 500
, but with the 50% efficiency , for single carrier
modes , its not very cost effective !
If you can translate audio to RF
, the ROS MF-2 data mode will operate
down to -27 dB s/n , at 100 Hz b/w . MF-7
is about -20 dB s/n 100 Hz b/w

extremely conservatively for linearity reasons.
I hope to get on air this weekend with about 30mW
ERP in CW and WSPR.
Maybe I try later OPERA as well.

I am using m-delt4 sound card , with
opera to one channel and wspr to the other
, the soundcard is mixing the two data streams
...making a better job, than using the same
sound card ... Rf path is the racal
ma1723 exciter , direct on 500 KHz , feeding , now
, qty 2 skanti solid state trp8500 250w pk
o/p class ab2 linear amps via a resistive
splitter , the amps are looking into
a 5 port (1.5 kw) combiner , audio drive
is set to below agc action , or the modes change
the pk power of the other
All this to make 15 watts
per carrier ! but the system is wide band
and will work up to 30 MHz , all I do is
change the ATU ...

It wouild appear that if one
is txing WSPR and
OPERA parallel on one
TX,the TX and (a possible) power
amp wouild have to be linear,
i.e. at least in class AB ?
