Stefan,

what about a huff&puff oscillator (http://www.hanssummers.com/huffpuff.html) ?

LF,

My first 500kHz TX used a huff/puff VFO and it was very stable - as long as the RF pickup in the shack, while on TX, was minimized and the VFO and HuffPuff circuit were very well screened - otherwise the HuffPuff stabilization was lost during key down, and regained during RX. Still, a very nice way to get a VFO stable enough for WSPR without the need for DDS etc.
