Hi Mike,
for keying QRSS through a serial port, I would also prefer Rik's
dedicated software.
The 'digimode terminal' in SL can be configured for QRSS, but I haven't
used it to modulate a transmitter through the COM port with it for a
long time.
The audio tone generator is not the QRSS generator. It's, well, only
used to produce audio tones ;-)
Cheers,
Wolf .

Having sorted out some useful settings for QRSS receive, I thought I
would try transmitting with SpecLab, but have come across many
confusing menus, mostly involving audio tones.
But I don't use audio tones. I normally directly key the Tx using
ON7YD's excellent 'QRSS' program.
I can configure SpecLab so the COM1 port will switch the key on and
off (using a helpful TEST button), but I can't find anything that
will connect a text input to the COM port.
Does anyone have some simple instructions for this? Or is SpecLab
just for audio-based transmitting? Am I better off continuing to use
the ON7YD program?
