RTTY using the 5 unit International Murray code is old HAT eg 24 is R 135
is Y etc and can easily be read from a tape or visual display and the normal
speed is 50 bauds. Whether it was read by Ear is doubtful.

I was once told that some members of the Russian High Speed club could read
45 baud RTTY by ear.

Perhaps Mal has some learning to do?
