There  seems to  be a lot of  'constants'  that  are  maintained by the  old boys network ...They  have been  'observing'   things  disappearing  and re appearing  in high  energy  exp's  for  quite a  while .. even back when  100's of  large sheets  of photographic  film  was used as the 'detector'  ..  the idea  light  has slowed down  was   floated  years  ago   .. based on the  idea  , there  is not enough 'time'  for the universe  to  of expanded to the 'size'  it  already  is , inferring , light was a  little  quicker  back then . and  will  be slower  in the  future  .....  Cabbey of  CFA antenna   fame ran into  dispute with the   exam  invigilation  over the   questioning  Maxwell's  equations , a certain  problem with  double usage  of  currant,  (a  memorable   opening  statement  by G2AVJ , 'everything  was  simple till  Maxwell  buggered  things up' tends to  support this). .he is still  battling on with the  cross  field  concept  E/H  etc    .. cold fusion came and went ... 

 

The  usual   foil  being  'its a  career stopper'  , let's  face it  , who is  going to  tell  the  funding  people things like that ..until  the  funding  people  have  spent  so  much.. that need to  believe they  have  'just'  found  some  wonderful   thing  out  to justify  what  has been   spent  and  the  next  + 1  big  $  package ...... ZETA   anyone ?

Now that silly season has really arrived. So what length do they propose we cut our resonant dipoles to now?

 

Not to mention changing all the Amateur Band notations. Think of all the Yaesu, Icom and Kenwoods being returned to have their front panel band nomenclature corrected.
