Hi all,
Off topic I know, but whatever about magnetic effects, I agree with Mal when it comes to the appearance of these things. They are gradually ruining the best countryside in the UK. Mind you, the national grid pylons are not much better, would have been well worth the extra cost to bury the cables in my opinion.

One of the IET's predecessor institutions reported it would cost 7 to 22 times as much to install a grid link undergroud instead of using pylons.  By all means do it, but remember it will cost.
