The evening (TV and lights interference) is now rising Chris, so I think there is little chance in trying with QRP tonight. Attached is the latest screen grab showing the signal disappearing here at the point you dropped the PA current.

Thanks again for the test.

Thanks for trying this QRP level too Chris. Nothing seen in 424uHz BW after that time here, although Eddie is still getting you OK.

If you are remaining on for a few more hours (please) I will try with a narrower setting.

Hi Chris

That's great, did you reduce power, you are still a good signal here, keep your eye on my grabs, I am going off watch for a while.

QRP rules OK.

Thanks for the ongoing reports Roger.

It's odd that despite the same settings and aerial current here my reports seem to vary quite widely from day to day.
I'm wondering what the other variables are . . .

I'm preparing a spread sheet of my VLF reports and will send you a copy when it's done.

There's no problem with my reducing power and at 15.30Z (16.30 UK clock) I'll reduce the PA current to 1/10th its present setting.

Chris

Judging by your signal level, you might just be detectable here with 10-20dB less, especially if I wound the RX bandwidth down a bit more. We should try this sometime. It would be impressive to detect you with real QRP at your end.

Your good signal continues.

Using Spectrum Lab at 424uHz bandwidth certainly does the trick. BTW I also looked for you with Spectran in QRSS30, but not a sign with this. Antenna here is still the 80m wire loop in the garden. I hope to have an outside E-field probe set-up for next weekend and we can compare results although looking for DK7FC will be a priority.

Looks like you are around 20dB over the noise Chris. Impressive. Will send you a decent image when it has run for a few hours.

Thanks Chris.

My grabber https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15047843/xbm_grab.jpg is running if you want to check S/N level here.
