Mine is a model 1000-WA-MFN-30.  A big black heavy thing aruond 250 x 300 long x 150mm high,  but suspect its innards are much the same.

Ironic really, I used to have an old Naval HF-only load made from 6 big carbon resistors that glowed dull red with 700W of 137kHz  A current transformer added on the input going off to a test port turned it into a better power measurement tool than this Bird can manage.   Sold it when the Bird became available.   Wish I hadn't now.

But at least the coupler is calibrateable (does that word need the 'e' ?)

Dear Andy, LF Group,

The SNR for your beacon received here is up by 3-4dB, so in line with expectations.

And talking of test loads.    The 1kW 1GHz Bird attenuator increases its
attenuation value as it gets warm.

My dummy load behaves in the same way - it may be the same as you have, it is a Bird Tenuline model 8327. So whatever its virtues, temperature stability does not seem to be one of them!
