Beware of invalid activity on some frequencies.
When tuning across a frequency range with a narrow band RX say from Low to
High, use a spectrum display and look out for activity that is going in the
wrong direction ie Hight to low these are IMAGE frequencies and invalid.
Using a wideband display these Images will
appear along side real signals but you cannot be sure what
is real. Sound cards are probably vunerable to this problem except
precautions are taken.
Depending on antennas, mixer products or sampling
rates Images will appear even on High Quality receivers like W&J and
others.
