those who prefer to use units that were decommissioned in 1960 (when the SI 
system was introduced) should at least do it correct : "cycles per second", 
just "cycles" is meaningless.

So we also have to get rid of Farad (named after Michael Faraday), Volt 
(Alexander Volta), Ohm (Simon Ohm), Ampére (André-Marie Ampere), Henry (Joseph 
Henry), Coulomb (Charles-Augustin de Coulomb), Joule (James Joule), Watt (James 
Watt) and so on ...
A lot of work to do ;-)

In the electronic context.
There are CYCLES, KILOCYCLES and MEGACYCLES all related to FREQUENCY of
OCCURENCE and can be observed on a 'Scope for example but what does a HERTZ
look like.
Hertz is a meaningless label in fact its someones Name and is technically
inapproapriat when describing Frequency.
Rumour has it that one EU member state wants a RESISTOR renamed BANSHEE
