My ancestor, Amalrico di Bene, died in 1207 after being excommunicated by Pope Innocenzo III,
would be quite upset by seeing his family name spelled that way.... {:)

Alberto,

I sympathise.  In the 16th century my family name went from ROBSONNE to ROBSON to RABSON in 30 years.  And sometimes outsiders still get the modern spelling wrong.
