thanks for your replies.
The low noise below 4kHz is even more impressive to watch live on Perseus
when static crashes periodically shoot the noise baseline quickly upwards.
The base line literally looks like a swinging rope that has been
fixed to the bottom at 4kHz.

Your observation is correct.
This has also been mentioned by Paul Nicholson, who has a first class
ELF-VLF monitoring station.
However this frequency will ask for much larger loading coil.
