Hello Jim,

Nice to see that TX stations coming up in the UK!! I watch this with interest and am dreaming about a QSO, even if it will take hours ;-)

The "dx window" becomes smaller, about 3 hours (6 to 9 UTC) but the next autumn will come!

Good luck and keep us informated here!

Hi Mal

About two months so far, but Rod at Ofcom said it would take a while as they needed to chat with the chaps at the Met Office who use the band for lightning detection.  I had a long chat with Paul from Ofcom about the likely nature of amateur VLF signals i.e. QRSSSS and very QRPPPP and data and certainly not transient QRO blasts like lightning.

They both advised me that it would be a while so we just wait and see

Meanwhile I can study Stefan’s works in Germany and XIZ and I will be winding our coils, 1.4H and some 1000 turns.

I’d be buying shares in copper wire

Best regards and sweet dreams!!  J
