Mark,

I think the  rx noise level is a possible  glitch . i have  noted  other comments about it  ,
I have  had the  same problem , with the  correct level showing after a  rx/tx cycle ..

Subject: LF: WD2XSH/17 decoded in GM

Hi All,
3 instances of decodes of WD2XSH on 503.890KHz last night between 01:00 and 03:00z all with bad message tagged, and no /17 appended
These of course did not upload, sigs were 2 off -28 dB and 1 off -27dB
Several other corrupted calls reported on the same frequency.

I was using WSPR1.01, now upgraded to WSPR2  r1714. The change log does not suggest that 1.01 does not handle the suffixes correctly, but I am hoping that the upgrade will improve things
Interestingly the RX noise level indicator says -30dB all the time, irrespective of the audio level settings, though it displays and decodes well enough.
Soundcard setup is non-standard here, RX is softrock, processed by Speclab (which also provides the grabber  see www.dc2light.co.uk for a link) Audio Output from Speclab is filtered, frequency shifted and then passed to the WSPR software.

Pleased to copy the WD2XSH/17 on the tiny mag loop antenna, which is aligned roughly E-W and therfore has a null towards the USA
Hopefully future spots will reach the database.
Hope all have a happy and prosperous 2010
Mark GM4ISM IO85AR
