Hi Nigel,

I wrote that reply as it was me who recommended D4, I like it & it is reliable.

I picked up a Maplin 60KHz receiver to develop in that way but now I just use it as a VLF Rx. HI HI.

Thanks for your input.

Gary – G4WGT.

Synchronizing your computer clock
If your computer is a member of a domain, your computer clock is probably
synchronized automatically by a network time server. If your computer is not
a member of a domain, you can synchronize your computer clock with an
Internet time server.

If synchronization is enabled, your computer clock is synchronized with an
Internet time server once a week.

NOTE THE LAST LINE.

Once a week is not at all useful with most PC's & WSPR time accuracy.

---------------------

Don't take any notice of that there's loads of online options for regular synchronisation at sensible intervals, take a look at Dimension4 as previously recommended.

It will allow correction down to 1 second intervals if you really wanted to go for that and every few minutes or whatever is no problem.

It keeps you informed too of the synchronisation history.

Another option is an MSF unit of the kind designed for use with PCs.

I have a small battery operated Galleon unit with a serial interface.

Galleon stuff is overpriced but this module uses parts from HKW in Germany as well as their software so self assembly is an option.

Having said that, Dimension4 has made it rather redundant of late:-)
